Six poems out now across three local print publications
I’m so accustomed to the instant gratification of online markets that the slower print markets sometimes creep up on me. Then the mail comes, bearing surprise twinned with delight. I enjoy the feel of turning actual pages, paper leaves blooming with letters and numbers.

Where are you in your place–what are the qualities of place and state that define your work?
I have many ‘homes’ — but for poetry, the mid-Atlantic region of North America is where I have the deepest roots.
I’ve published in the Schuylkill Valley Journal in those ‘Before Times’ when I once lived and wrote poetry in Pennsylvania. I cherish those days, poetry readings at the Free Library of Philadelphia, the comfort and support of my beloved poetry circle there.
I’m now back where I grew up in Maryland. I joined the Maryland Writer’s Association to give me a local anchor, help connect me with other writers in the area. Pen in Hand is the MWA’s literary journal. This is my first time turning these lovely pages.
I love Little Patuxent Review, have published there before. They host launch readings and other local events. Speaking of which, the rescheduled launch for this issue is coming up on March 8, with both in-person and hybrid options. Come join!
