FALLEN

“The Gallery was ready with a teaser—Nightmares at Olympus Mons—with the iconic orange backdrop, the display lit by lava flow from beneath the red planet.”

Nightmares on Exhibit

I swear, this started as a poem, the first true ekphrastic in my series of responses to arts I dreamed up. In this case, Black Hare Press dared us with an image, and I fell prey to the madness. Descended into prose.

Nightmares on Exhibit introduces The Gallery (you may come here again) and reprises the cult of the red hands, a mysterious group with ties to Mars. You’ve already met some of the latter in Visit to a Private Collection of Parietal Art (Dreams & Nightmares, January 2026) and Climbing Olympus Mons (The Women of Myth, Island of Wak-Wak, 2025–originally The World of Myth).

You can order digital or print copies here, should you too fall prey to the madness.
